What is Travelaxe? Travelaxe is a free (for leisure and business travelers only) Windows program that you install and run on your own computer that can simultaneously search up to 20 unique travel websites (including HotelDiscounts/Hotels.com, AANHotels, OneTravel, Travelswitch and more) as well as hotels directly for real-time hotel pricing and availability. Travelaxe is not a travel agency. We do not book rooms or make reservations of any kind. Once you find the hotel room you're interested in, Travelaxe sends you directly to the booking page of the selected travel website or hotel to actually make the reservation. Who is Travelaxe for? Travelaxe is for anyone needing to book one or more hotel rooms, wants to save money on hotel costs, and doesn't have the time or resources to search multiple travel websites. Tell us what locations you would like to see Travelaxe support! Use it free! Leisure and business travelers can use Travelaxe for free by downloading it from the download page. Travelaxe is a Windows program that runs on your computer. Once you download the setup program, you must run it to install Travelaxe on your Computer. You can then start Travelaxe from the Windows Start menu by going to Start->Programs->Travelaxe. We don't even require you to create an account to use it, but it is recommended to join for access to additional features and free support. You can log in anonymously by leaving the Email and Password fields blank in the log in screen. What are some advantages of using Travelaxe? Take a quick tour Here's a quick look at some of what Travelaxe can do. Start Travelaxe Once Travelaxe is installed on your computer, you start it from the Start->Programs->Travelaxe menu which brings up the log in screen:  Specify your travel information All sessions begin with specifying your travel location, arrival and departure dates, and the number of adults, children, beds and rooms. Click the search button to begin Travelaxe's exhaustive search of multiple travel websites for current prices. Look at the special events list when planning a trip to see what's going on in the city you're traveling to. This is especially useful when traveling to cities like Las Vegas which often hosts very large conventions where 100,000 or more people could be there, thus making lines for car rental, restaurants and other entertainment much longer than usual.  Compare the rates by hotel and travel website The following screen shows the results of your search. There are three main sections for this display: the results summary showing the rates for every hotel found through each travel site (lower portion), the top 10 best deals found (upper left), and the details for the currently selected hotel (upper right). Selecting a hotel in the top 10 list or in the results summary displays the details in the upper right frame, including the hotel's phone numbers, address, nightly charges, subtotal, taxes & fees and total cost. Additionally, there are buttons that link directly to the selected hotel's website and location. If a travel website is selected in the details frame, then the view booking page button can be used to view the booking page for that hotel through the selected website. In this search, Four Queens has a total cost (including all taxes and fees) ranging from $155.53 to $316.92, a potential savings of $161.29! The cheapest rate for each hotel is highlighted in yellow. If there really was one travel website that always offered the best prices, there would be a column of yellow in the results, but that is never the case.  Other features Travelaxe supports multiple locations, with more being added all the time. You can set up filters based on price as well as by hotel (name or class rating), to make the output tailored to your needs. Travelaxe also maintains an extensive database of hotel, location, travel website and special event information. As new locations and hotels are added to the system, you will automatically receive the updated information when you log in. As Travelaxe is improved and new versions are made available, upgrading is automatically done also when you log in. And since Travelaxe is an advanced Windows application, there's no need to wade through hard to navigate websites or wait for slow websites to load lots of images. Travelaxe even works great over a modem, but its best with cablemodem or DSL.
